Questions about the PT2000 Teleprompter Kit Empty
PostSubject: Questions about the PT2000 Teleprompter Kit   Questions about the PT2000 Teleprompter Kit EmptySun Sep 14, 2008 8:32 am

Hi

Just a few questions:

1. How portable is the PT2000 really?

2. Can the canon hv30 handcam work with the PT2000?

3. Is the hard durable case from b&h item "V-8000HD/DK 8" LCD Deluxe Starter Kit" http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/536086-REG/Ikan_V8000HD_SK_V_8000HD_DK_8_LCD_Deluxe.html
a metal case that will fit the PT2000 Teleprompter kit and does it have the correct batteries for the PT2000 ?

Thanks

Adam

Well, the PT2000 does require a computer like a laptop for the prompter software to run.

That being said, everthing else is foldable. There is the glass and the metal receiving brackets , however they will fit a normal size bag or case.

When the camera is placed on the receiving bracket you can then adjust it to position the camera to your need.

The V8000HD Deluxe kit case will not fit the PT2000 kit. It may fit the monitor with a few adjustments.

THe battery that is included with the V8000HD Deluxe kit will work on the monitor supplied with the PT2000, however, you will need an extra accessory to use the battery. Our AC106s is a battery plate with a 12 volt AC plug on the other end. The battery plate only takes the sony L series batteries.

Hope this answers your quesitons. let me know if its unclear.

Thanks for your quick response

Will the "Ikan AC-103 Battery Box for Ikan" power the PT2000 monitor?

... this looks like a more realistic solution if it works ...

The AC103 will power the monitor, however, because it uses AA batteries it won't last as long as the sony battery. the AC104 has the AC103 battery plate in addition to a 10 cell battery charger.

So, for example you could recharge the AA batteries with the 10 Cell charger.

Looking for a teleprompter and considering the PT2100. What distance from the camera do you think someone could read on that size screen. We have rented a 15" from a rental house and it was very bulky. We have a Z1U camera.

Thanks for contacting ikan. Your talent should be at a minimum of 3 feet from the teleprompter. The PT2100 is disigned for small to midsized cameras. Please let me know if you have any questions.

1) The PT 2000 is a very portable for a through the glass type teleprompter. The weight with camera is around 12lbs. So most smaller tripods are well within weight limits.

2) Yes, the HV30 will work by just adjusting the glass to slide it down so the lens is in the center of the glass.

3)There is not a hard case for the PT2000 yet. We are coming out with one by the fall.

The AC107 battery adaptor will give you the options of using Canon, Sony, Panasonic, JVC batteries. It is sold seperately.
