It's a shame I can't show my LetusXL rig here (you know, just to gloat a bit! Razz) , but since my trusty XL2 is undergoing a long overdue checkup at Canon Canada, I'm wishing it was here in this picture instead of my Sony PD170!

Ah, I sure do hope I'll get it soon, it sure ain't the same working wihtout 24p!

Hey Gabriel,

That's a pretty funny picture! A fellow XL2 user, I like that. I wouldn't knock the PD170 too much though, it's still a pretty awesome little camera which I'm sure you know. Besides, the video from it looks pretty good on that 8000HD.

Hope you get your cam back soon, I shoot mostly 24P as well.

Heh, thanks RPM, I agree that the PD170 sure is a good camera, especially in low-light situations when a client's touchy about grain rendering. I like what gets out of it, but I still prefer my XL2 for it's 24p images' sharp and grainy look.

I dunno, I might be weird, but I don't much like grainless images, I'm not really a pixel purist (or whatever those who use grain removing plugins call themselves). I think the XL2 gives a nice low-light grain, and even pushed gain at +12db adds a good "trashy" look that I really love to use :-)
