My name is Jonathan Reichert. I serve as the President of the Board of Directors of two Christian non-profit organizations: International Gospel Center Berlin, based in the United States, and J.U.M.P (Youth Work and Media Production), based in Germany. Both organizations work in cooperation to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ through telelvision to Germany.
For 2 years, J.U.M.P has been producing 2 youth TV shows called question life and question life music. Both shows air in Berlin and the surrounding regions (around 4.5 million house holds). This area belongs to the former communist part of Germany. Over ninety percent of the population is atheist, making it the region with the highest percent of atheists in the world. The programs also air in 2 internaional Christian TV stations, Bibel TV and tru:tv, that reach house holds in Germany, Switzerland and Austria reaching around 22 millions viewers. Since November 2008 we are producing a new show called "destiny". This show will air on ERF (Engl.: Gospel Radio) starting January 2009. ERF is Germany's best and biggest Christian TV station. We have upgraded the quality. We got more TV professionals working on "destiny"
It is officially "illegal" to overtly preach the Gospel on German TV. However, our format focuses on topics to provoke our viewers to "question life" through action-filled and lively events (i.e., sky-diving, bungee-jumping, house-running, interviews of famous people, testimonies of Christians, etc.) Our goal is to leave our viewers to question the meaning of their life and to look to Christ as their answer and purpose.
Until now, the primary funding for our shows has come from my personal resources. To further our endeavours we are in need of some new equipment that we can not afford at this moment. I noticed on your website that you support via equipment donation to churches or Christian organizations. We would be very blessed to receive such a donation. Specifically, we need:
